Former Jamaica Minister Could Face Manslaughter Charges


CaribWorldNews, KINGSTON, Jamaica, Fri. Oct. 8, 2010: Jamaica`s former agriculture minister could face manslaughter charges for causing a death by dangerous driving.

The Director of Public Prosecutions Paula Llewellyn has ruled that Roger Clarke, a high ranking member of Jamaica`s opposition People`s National Party and a Member of Parliament, could  be charged with causing the death of 23-year-old motorcyclist Derron Nicholson.

Clarke collided with a motorcycle ridden by Nicholson in August. Nicholson later died in hospital from the serious injuries sustained in the accident.
