Former Haiti PM Dead


CaribWorldNews, PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti, Thurs. June 17, 2010: A former Haiti prime minister who led the Bazin political party has passed away at the ripe age of 78.

Marc Louis Bazin, who lost Haiti`s first free presidential election in 1990 but went on to become prime minister under the Jean Bertrand Aristide goverment, died Wednesday after a battle with cancer.

In recent months Bazin had joined other former prime ministers from across the political spectrum to advise current leaders on rebuilding and holding elections in the earthquake-ravaged country.
