Senate Banking Committee Rejects Garrett Nomination For Export-Import Bank

US President Donald Trump’s nominee to lead the Export-Import Bank, former House Republican Scott Garrett of New Jersey, was rejected by the Senate Banking Committee in a vote Tuesday, The Hill reported. In a vote with 10 in favor and 13 opposed to the nomination, the panel declined to advance the nomination, the report said. Two Republicans – Sens. Mike Rounds (S.D.) and Tim Scott (S.C.) — joined Democrats in opposing the nominee, the report said.
