Pope Francis Holds Emotional Meeting With Rohingya Refugees In Bangladesh

Pope Francis held an emotional meeting with refugees from Myanmar in Bangladesh Friday — where he used the term Rohingya for the first time during his Asia trip, according to Reuters. He urged the international community to not ignore refugees, persecuted minorities, the poor and vulnerable, the report said. The meeting occurred at an inter-religious peace meeting during his first full day in Bangladesh, where 625,000 Rohingya Muslims are in refugee camps after fleeing Myanmar’s Rakhine state because of a military crackdown, the report said.
