Pakistan Reporter Siddiqui Says He Escaped Kidnapping Attempt

Taha Siddiqui, a reporter with France24 and the Pakistan bureau chief for World is One News, said several armed men attempted to kidnap him and threatened to shoot him if he resisted, The Associated Press reported Wednesday. Siddiqui said he believes the attack was in response to his critical reporting of Pakistan’s powerful military and intelligence agencies, the report said. In his account, Siddiqui said he was on his way to the airport when his taxi was halted, the report said. He was then ordered out of the vehicle, beaten and threatened.
